1. What Pursuit Does
Pursuit is a training intelligence platform for endurance athletes. It reads your workout data from connected accounts (currently Strava), turns it into stories, tracks your progress toward your goal race, and builds a personalised training history for analysis.
2. Data We Collect
When you connect Strava, Pursuit collects and stores:
  • Your Strava profile — name, profile photo, city, country
  • All past and future activities — type, date, distance, duration, pace, heart rate, elevation, cadence, power, calories, suffer score
  • Activity metadata — trainer/commute flags, gear, kudos, PRs, map polylines
  • Your goal race — name, date, location (entered by you during onboarding)
  • App preferences — theme, onboarding state
We do not collect payment information, passwords, or any data beyond what Strava explicitly shares via their API.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to power Pursuit features:
  • Generate workout stories and narrative summaries
  • Calculate your training readiness score toward your goal race
  • Show weekly volume, sport breakdown, pace trends, and personal bests
  • Sync your history across devices you sign in on
  • Power future Compass intelligence features (training recommendations)
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. We do not use your data to train AI models. Your data is yours.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a cloud database (Supabase, hosted on AWS). It is accessible only to you via your Strava identity. We use server-side sessions (HttpOnly cookies) so your credentials are never exposed in the browser. Local device storage is used only as a performance cache — the cloud database is always the source of truth.
5. Third-Party Services
Pursuit integrates with:
  • Strava — for activity and profile data. Governed by Strava's own Privacy Policy.
  • Unsplash — for background images. No personal data is shared.
Connecting Strava grants Pursuit read-only access to your activities and profile. We request activity:read_all and profile:read_all scopes. We never write to or modify your Strava account.
6. Your Rights
  • Disconnect Strava at any time from Profile → Disconnect Strava
  • Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
  • Your Strava authorisation can be revoked from Strava's settings at any time
Disconnecting Strava removes your session from this device. Revoking access on Strava stops any future data access. To request full data deletion, contact us and we will remove all records within 7 days.
7. Automatic Syncing
By connecting your Strava account, you consent to Pursuit automatically syncing your complete activity history and any new activities in the background each time you use the app. This sync is silent — no action is required from you. It ensures your training analysis is always up to date.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Pursuit evolves. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will note the last updated date at the top of this page.

By signing in or connecting Strava, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Privacy Policy, and you consent to Pursuit collecting and processing your data as described above.
